Nov. 30 – Dec. 1, 2012 – A REVIVE Strategic Plan (see entire document) was developed
during a two-day prayer and planning retreat at Hidden Acres Retreat Center near Dayton,
Iowa. Tom Lambrecht served as facilitator for 19 lay and clergy persons seeking a new direction
for evangelism and renewal in the Iowa Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.
Under Tom’s direction, the group affirmed the current need for “Christian faithfulness, revival,
renewal, and reform within The United Methodist Church at all levels.” Additional needs include
affirmation of “the authority of Scripture, the Biblical Christian standard of morality and the
recognition of God’s power to overcome all sin and transform all sinners.” All United Methodist
members are called “to be effective workers for revival, renewal, and reform.” Working groups
began study and work on areas outlined in the Plan.
